My design process is the same whether you’re looking for a comprehensive brand identity, or just a stand-alone logo design. I’ve outlined each step of the process below.
If you’re ready to get started, fill out the form on my contact page. From there, we’ll agree the scope of work, budget and timeframe.
01. Brief
Forming the design brief is crucial; we need to understand the goals of the business, who the competitors are and how to differentiate, who the target market is, and how the business should be perceived going forwards.
02. Research
After we’ve developed a direction for the project and established the goals we need to achieve, we’ll begin researching. This includes aspects such as styles of work/moodboards, competitors & design psychology (colour, typography).
03. Design
Then it’s the fun stage; developing ideas that solve the design brief. Any concepts with potential are then refined until we feel we have a suitable solution, that not only ticks the boxes, but goes above and beyond expectations.
04. Present
After exploring various concepts, the best options will be organised into a PDF. Each concept will be displayed with the brand in context/on applications, alongside an explanation of the design thinking behind the idea.
05. Deliver
According to feedback, we may make a revision or two to finalise the project. Then upon approval, the files will be prepared in various formats and colours (including vector EPS/SVG, PNG, JPG, in primary, reversed, black and white).
Timeframe
We may agree to a timeframe prior to starting the project. If this isn’t a factor, please allow for 4-8 weeks for a brand identity project, and 2-4 weeks for a logo design project.
